What were you looking for before you started a franchise?
I was currently supporting the franchisees at Onside with their businesses and helping them grow. I thought the best way to support them even more is to manage my own franchise; this way I can tell them every step I am doing and when whilst supporting their own journeys.
Why did you go to Onside Coaching for a franchise?
Because the team of coaches, managers and directors are all passionate about what they do and why they do it. If I can instil that into my own franchise, I know it will be successful.
What is the process to becoming a franchisee?
- Apply
- Face to face interview – display mini business plan and presentation on Supporting schools in PE.
- If successful the recruit must spend time shadowing our central staff in schools (depending on experience depends on how long for)
- Spend 121 time with myself to go through business plan and how to get started. Once a week at least.
- Attend network meetings with other franchisees
Were there any problems when setting up this business or any struggles you found?
No, the support of the Directors and the other franchisees are really great. We share ideas and ask for support when needed.
Have you worked closely with the team while becoming a franchise?
Yes, absolutely. Always there for support, one of the best things about our network.
What advice would you give to someone interested in building a franchise?
Start by enquiring. If you are thinking about it, just get the information you need and ask any questions. That is the starting point. It took me nearly 4 years to commit to a franchise and I wish I had done it earlier. You will never be alone in your journey, so as long as you are committed and passionate you will succeed. Attend the network meetings and continue being part of the team.
